Privacy Policy

Educational product: NBHDer provides property tax education using public records. We do not provide legal or tax advice and are not a county appraisal office unless a county co-branding agreement clearly states otherwise.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information you provide

• Parcel lookup: parcel number or address you enter to search public records
• Parceley questions: text you submit for educational Q&A
• Pro license key: if you activate a paid subscription (stored on your device and sent to our API to validate)
• Optional homeowner profile (device only): if you opt in, you may save birth year and optional signals (disability, veteran status) locally on your device for personalized reminder suggestions — we do not use this to determine eligibility for tax relief programs

1.2 Information collected automatically

• Usage data: pages/screens viewed, features used, approximate timestamps
• Device data: device type, OS version, app version, language
• Network data: IP address, request logs (for security and rate limiting)

1.3 Information we do not collect in the App UI

We design the App not to display property owner names or mailing addresses from county records. County public lookup flows use parcel identifiers, situs (site) addresses, and valuation fields.

1.4 County public record data

We process public property and tax data published by counties (e.g. parcel attributes, tax neighborhoods, assessment fields, deed-recorded sales from GIS). This data is not your personal information in the same way as a private account database; it is public record made available for education.

2. How We Use Information

We use information to:

• Provide lookup, comparison, Parceley answers, and educational content
• Validate subscription licenses
• Send local notifications you enable (e.g. tax calendar reminders) — processed on your device
• Improve reliability, security, and product quality
• Comply with law and enforce our Terms of Use

We do not sell your personal information.

3. How We Share Information

We may share information with:

• Service providers (hosting, analytics) under contracts that limit use — see Subprocessors below
• County partners — aggregated, non-identifying usage statistics if covered by a county agreement
• Legal requirements — if required by law or to protect rights and safety

We do not share optional homeowner profile fields from your device with counties unless you separately consent to a feature described in the App.

4. Parceley and Artificial Intelligence

Parceley answers are generated from curated educational templates and county/statute citations. Your questions may be logged server-side for quality and abuse prevention. We do not use your questions to train models.

We use industry-standard measures including encryption in transit (TLS), access controls, and monitoring. No method is 100% secure. Report concerns to connect@zerebraldesigns.com.

7. Children

NBHDer is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

8. Your Choices

• Notifications: disable in App or OS settings
• Optional profile: clear in App profile settings or uninstall
• License: remove Pro license in App settings
• Access / deletion: email connect@zerebraldesigns.com with subject "Privacy request" — we will respond within 30 days

9. North Carolina and Public Records

NBHDer displays information consistent with public records practices. Questions about a specific parcel's official valuation belong to your county tax office.

10. Changes

We may update this policy. We will post the new date at the top and, for material changes, provide in-App or Site notice.
